This semester I've got three clients for my PR Campaigns class:
- Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation -- arts nonprofit
- Project Safe -- domestic violence community organization
- Grady College ADPR Department -- fundraising
I kept the clients local and smallish because I'm going to try to add some of the things I learned from team teaching with an advertising professor last spring into a PR-only section. I had wanted to blog about that, but discovered I couldn't really say much without violating the client confidentiality agreement. This semester, though, I'll be able to share our experiences more readily.
So, you can watch for some slide decks and a few new additions to the campaign book (such as a creative brief) that are straight out of advertising but can make a real contribution to PR while also preparing students for jobs in a converged market.
Oh, and P.S. to my AEJMC blog reading friend (you know who you are): thanks for inspiring me to blog a bit more this semester. Here's hoping you'll keep learning and maybe even comment once or twice. :-)
