The Grady College advising office recently released some numbers that create a picture of our undergraduate program. About 1,500 students are currently enrolled, with 350 graduating spring and summer; 85% are Georgia residents, but the remainder represent 34 other states plus Washington, D.C. and 19 other countries. Most interesting to me is that our diversity numbers, at least in terms of race, continue to rise. This spring's undergrads are 15% racial/ethnic minority, and new admits are 17% minority. As we go up a point or two every year, it's starting to make a noticeable difference (for instance, both the new president and the new vice president of PRSSA are minorities.)
Looking strictly at the PR major (about 300 students), a couple of things stand out. They are 92% female and 8% male. Wow. And, new PR admits this spring had an average GPA (from their first two years as undergrads) of 3.75 -- yes, out of 4.0. Also wow.

Wow, is right, Karen. 92 per cent female is reaching the upper limits. My PhD was on this phenomenon.
