    Hi Karen and Bill!

Even before I met Bill, I knew him by reputation...first as an architect in building Kent's fantastic PR program (I'm a proud Kent alum), then as a thoughtful, wise blogger. I consider ToughSledding indispensible reading for people interested in understanding the pulse of social media from a communications perspective.

The discussions I've had on ToughSledding (even when Bill and I disagree) have led to new ideas, not devolved into name calling and shouting matches, like many areas of the blogosphere. If I were a publisher, I'd be twisting Bill's arm to write the theory of communications and social media (more evergreen than the typical what is sm and why should I use it books that are outdated before they even come out), because his idea of using social media tools while retaining PR's traditional strengths is something that students need to understand.
