After Kaye finished her video she came up with several more ideas for modeling social media use in teaching:
1. Post a picture of the class in your Facebook album then have the students go on & tag themselves
2. Create a Twitter account for students to follow & send quick admin-type updates (no class, change to assignment, etc) there -- what used to take up 10 minutes at the beginning of class each session now is online & archived
3. Use a flip video cam (~$100) to record student presentations then put them on YouTube. Then share the videos with professionals interested, faculty & use as examples for presentations for future classes. No cam? Audio only works, too!
4. Audio record your lectures to upload or do supplemental podasts for your class.
5. Share Web sites with a class by tagging items in del.icio.us (Here's Kaye's class page)

Thanks for having me on 'Meet the Teacher', Karen!

The video format is wonderful! I like your approach of teaching the basics and also teaching students how to teach themselves since technology changes frequently.
